I collaborated with Monica on this project. In this video, we used some virtual monsters from the SHAN HAI JING. Shan Hai Jing is a book written by ancient people thousands of years ago. I have to say that we were amazed by the imagination of people thousands of years ago. We think the monsters described in the book are very interesting. If combined with the scenes of modern cities, they will be very interesting and fit the theme of this assignment. So we decided to make this video.

The entire video is a combination of collage and hand-drawing.
We finished the hand-drawing part on Procreate, and we drew the evolution of the monster changing. For example, boats became fish with wings, and rocks on the seaside became four corners. The deer, the plane has become a man with wings and a dragon tail, the bird has become a phoenix, the tree has become a hydra, and the broom has become a nine-tailed fox.
The collage animation is also our first try, which is super cool. As long as we make the decision of the script, the next step is to find the materials that we need, then cut them into small pieces, and make them "move".

For the background music, we chose a well-known Chinese classical music, its name is "Ambush on Ten Sides", not only because it is classical music, it conforms to the style of our video, but also because of the uniqueness of this piece. Compared with other Chinese classical music, the rhythm is faster, which can add some tension and mystery to this video.

In general, making this video is very fulfilling and we really enjoy it.
